About Our Counseling and Mentorship Programs

16

Channeled Paths is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers free mentorship programs for at-risk youth and kids with special needs. We form partnerships within the community to create a positive impact on the lives of adolescents.

We work with individuals and families, granting them access to multi-phase testing and training, unique therapy techniques, such as sound therapy and hypnosis, and mental health counseling services.

We also host fundraising events for local groups, including soccer and football teams.

Driven by a Passion for Community Service

Our agency actively promotes pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and a sense of hope among the youth. We foster their capacity for critical thinking, allowing them to develop healthier responses to high-stress triggers.

Program Description

We offer no-cost counseling and mentoring services to selected youth and adults. We partner with schools and the juvenile justice system to identify individuals eligible for our programs, but referrals are not required.

Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. However, our target market generally includes students in trouble with the law, at risk of dropping out of school, or displaying high-risk behaviors such as self-harm or substance abuse.

Program Goals

Our greatest goal is to offer a fresh start for at-risk youth in CSRA. We strive to develop a reliable support system for young adults and create a place that renews their enthusiasm, builds their character, and helps them overcome obstacles.

Our program is designed to foster social and behavioral change in our clients by helping them develop the critical thinking skills necessary to make positive life decisions. We also emphasize the value of self-control and personal responsibility.

SERVICES

COUNSELING

The goal of the Channeled Paths’ counseling program is to teach critical thinking skills and emphasize the value of personal control and responsibility in all actions.

Each participating youth will be agreeing to participate in a 12-month-long program, with standard group sessions occurring once a week at a pre-established time. Group sessions are at an intern/youth ratio not to exceed 1:8.

Additional counseling will be determined on an individual basis.

The majority of Channeled Paths’ counseling sessions will take place at preferred locations.

Mentoring

As a complementary component to counseling, Channeled Paths also utilizes a mentoring program that challenges youth to develop life skills. Through exposure trips and workshops, participating youth will be exposed to critical life skills, such as career development and planning, personal financial management, etiquette, and health and nutrition.

As a capstone, the Channeled Paths’ mentoring program is designed to challenge youth to grow socially through self‑development.
